According to preliminary nationals from Nielsen, "Show Me the Money" (2.2/6 in 18-49, 7.7 million viewers overall) - assuming the slot formerly occupied by the "Dancing With the Stars" results show - ranked fifth in key demos from 8 to 9, opening things up for dramas "Bones" on Fox (3.2/9 in 18-49, 8.9 million viewers overall) and "Jericho" on CBS (3.1/9 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall). "Bones" hit a season high, while "Jericho" logged its best scores in five weeks.
Also in the opening hour, CW had its best showing of the season in the hour with "America's Next Top Model" (2.8/8 in 18-49, 5.8 million viewers overall), which led in adults 18-34 (3.5/11, 7.8 million viewers overall). NBC was above average too with its annual spec "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" (2.6/7 in 18-49, 9.4 million viewers overall).
And in the 9 o'clock hour, Taye Diggs drama "Day Break" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) tied for fifth in 18-49, coming in with just half of its OK premiere score of two weeks earlier. That opened things up for CBS drama "Criminal Minds" (5.0/13 in 18-49, 17.9 million viewers overall), which matched or set series highs in several categories. Also, NBC's "Biggest Loser" (3.6/9 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall) and CW's "One Tree Hill" (1.8/5 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) achieved season highs.
CBS remained dominant at 10 with "CSI: NY" (5.1/14 in 18-49, 16.2 million viewers overall), with NBC's "Medium" a distant second (3.0/8 in 18-49, 8.0 million viewers overall) and ABC's special "20/20" third (2.8/8 in 18-49, 7.0 million viewers overall).
