Joann Wiggan, 52, is accused by U.S. prosecutors of lying during trial testimony about voicemail messages from another former SBC employee, who is charged with helping Pellicano wiretap the telephones of actors and producers. Wiggan is also charged with lying to investigators and the grand jury.
Wiggan's lawyer, David Reed, didn't immediately return a call to his office. Her case was the first to go to trial in an investigation that has led to charges against 14 people, including Terry Christensen, a lawyer for Kirk Kerkorian and "Die Hard" helmer John McTiernan.
A federal jury in Los Angeles found Wiggan not guilty on four counts of perjury and deadlocked on a fifth count. McTiernan pleaded guilty in April to lying to the FBI about hiring Pellicano to wiretap the phone of a movie producer.
Wiggan had been ordered to testify before a grand jury in October 2005 and again in January. She denied using a voicemail account that Ray Turner, the other indicted former SBC employee, called more than 100 times.
