Spiro to direct 'Three Strikes'

Trio cast for 'Big Bang Theory'

Lev L. Spiro has come aboard to direct "Three Strikes," a laffer set in the world of minor league baseball from Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck ("King of the Hill") and Jon Stewart's Busboy Prods. Spiro's credits include "Weeds," "Everybody Hates Chris" and "Arrested Development."

In casting news, Frank John Hughes has been cast as a series regular in "Three Strikes" as Mike Scronic, the shortstop for the Fresno Floods, who's always got some deal on the side. Hughes' credits include "The Sopranos," "Band of Brothers" and NBC's "LAX."

Newcomer Kunal Nayyar, Kaley Cuoco ("8 Simple Rules") and Simon Helberg ("For Your Consideration") have booked series regular roles in "The Big Bang Theory." They join a cast that also includes Jim Parsons ("Judging Amy"), Johnny Galecki ("Roseanne") in the pilot from WBTV.
