Bill Gerber's Gerber Pictures is producing with Phillips' Warners-based shingle.
Writing duo Michael Colton and John Aboud have been hired by the studio to execute Phillips' take on the original script by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas.
Story revolves around an average Joe whose life is turned upside down after being falsely accused of a crime. A government agent mixed up in the case resolves to make things right, with the duo setting off on a road adventure.
Producers are Gerber and Phillips. Warners bought the script two years ago from Bays and Thomas, who went on to create CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother." Phillips, who hasn't announced what his next directing project will be, boarded "Fix Up" more recently.
Other producing projects at Todd Phillips Co. include "Man-Witch" for Warners and "The Golden Tux" for Dimension.
Gerber Pictures' upcoming slate includes "Major Movie Star" for Warners.
Colton and Aboud wrote the original script for Fox Atomic's upcoming "The Comebacks," as well as the script for "Mild Things," which Principato-Young is producing for New Line.
Phillips is repped by CAA. Colton and Aboud are repped by CAA and Principato-Young.
