VOD for Brit Telecom

World Brief

British Telecom will soft launch its long-awaited broadband VOD service BT Vision on Dec. 4, to be followed by a fully fledged marketing push next spring.

BT Vision, which has signed content deals with DreamWorks, i-concerts, Eagle Rock, BBC Worldwide, Paramount, Warner Music Group, Viacom, Channel 4 and Turner Broadcasting, will be available to broadband subscribers.

Auds must buy a specially adapted Freeview box that gives access to more than 30 digital channels for no fee.

Details of the pricing structure for BT Vision and the cost of the set-top box will be announced when the service launches.
