Arclight Films ("Bobby") has bought police thriller spec "The Last Beat" by tyro scribe Harbor Peoples and set it up with Tucker Tooley, Jake Weiner, JC Spink and Chris Bender.
Story centers on a former cop who's forced to reteam with his estranged partner to track down the former's missing son.
Arclight execs Harrison Kordestani and Gary Hamilton exec produce.
Arclight produced "Lord of War" with Lionsgate and "Bobby" with the Weinstein Co. It's developing "Loaded" with Tooley; its "Slipstream," which Anthony Hopkins directed, wrote and starred in, will screen at Sundance.
Benderspink has "Killers" in production with Element, Lift and Lionsgate. It's recently set up "In the Stars" at New Line and "Eighth Wonder" at Universal. Tooley has recently produced "Shadowboxer" and "A Man Apart" and is currently working with Benderspink on New Line's "We're the Millers."
