Zeitgeist grooms 'Landscapes'

Distrib picks up U.S. rights to docu

Zeitgeist Films has picked up all U.S. rights to "Manufactured Landscapes," an environmentally themed docu set mainly in China.

Movie uses photos of Edward Burtynsky as a prism through which to examine the impact of industry on the Chinese landscape.

It's directed by Jennifer Baichwal, who helmed Zeitgeist Films' docu about bohemian writer Paul Bowles, "Let It Come Down."

"Landscapes" played Toronto Film Festival this year, where it won the Canadian feature award. Daniel Iron and Nick de Pencier produced the Foundry Films production.

Distrib plans to release next summer.
