Winners receive $2,500 from the DGA along with a product grant valued at $1,000 provided by Kodak's Worldwide Student Film Program.
African American kudo went to Matthew Jones of Biola U. for "Be the Man" with honorable mention to Hezekiah Lewis of UCLA for "Memoirs of a Smoker."
Asian American award went to Vineet Dewan of USC for "Clear Cut, Simple" with honorable mention to Arvin Chen of USC for "Mei."
Latino winner was Xochitl Dorsey of UCLA for "Tears & Tortillas" and honorable mention went to Erika Bagnarello of Florida State U. Film School for "The Melting Pot."
Woman kudo went to Daphne Lambrinou of USC for "Paperboat" with honorable mention to Diane Lisa Johnson of USC for "Swimming."
The winning films will be screened at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the DGA.
