'No Mercy for the Rude'
SEOUL -- The Weinstein Co. has picked up North American distribution rights to "No Mercy for the Rude," a Korean black comedy/action film about an assassin with a speech impediment.
Deal was sealed with Seoul-based seller the Core Studio following pic's first market screening at the Pusan Film Festival's Asian Film Market in South Korea last week.
Starring Shin Ha-kyun ("Save the Green Planet!"), "No Mercy" earned $6.1 million on its Korean release in late August. Pic also screened at the Vancouver Film Festival.
The Core Studio will also rep two projects at the upcoming AFM, including mystic melodrama "M" by helmer Lee Myung-se ("Duelist") and romantic comedy "Zig Zag Love" starring Jae Hee ("3-Iron").
"M," featuring local heartthrob Gang Dong-won and actress Lee Yeon-hee, starts shooting in November.
