Endemol USA-produced "Money" will bow Nov. 22. It replaces the results episode of "Dancing With the Stars," which wraps its current cycle next month.
Hosted by William Shatner, "Money" is part of primetime's new wave of quizshows. NBC already has "Deal or No Deal" and "1 vs. 100" on the air, while Fox will begin airing "The Rich List" at 9 p.m. Wednesdays next month.
In addition to a timeslot for "Money," ABC also announced more details about the show's format --specifically, the mechanism by which players will have their winnings multiplied or wiped out (Daily Variety, May 2).
After answering a trivia question, a contestant will choose one of 13 dancers, each of whom has a scroll with a dollar figure to be added to or subtracted from the player's winnings. Contestants must answer at least six questions.
ABC is calling the hoofers the "Million Dollar Dancers" and says they'll always be "ready to break into any style of dance, while audacious master of ceremonies William Shatner spontaneously boogies with the beauties onstage."
