PostWorks, New York, one of Gotham's top film and high-definition post-production facilities, is merging with Orbit Digital, a provider of mobile post-production equipment and services.

Combined company will be able to provide both location-based post services, such as on-location color grading, and lab services such as digital intermediate.

Orbit Digital becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of PWNY, and managing partner Alastair Binks becomes PostWorks prexy. The rest of Orbit's key partners also will join PostWorks management.

Orbit's offices in Gotham, Hollywood and London will continue to operate under the Orbit name.

Both companies will continue to focus on their existing businesses: Orbit on mobile, on-location services, PostWorks on lab and suite-based services.

Orbit has provided mobile post services to features including "The Da Vinci Code," "The Chronicles of Narnia" and "Spider-Man 3."

PostWorks' clients include skeins "The Sopranos," "30 Rock" and "The Wire."
