Jones focus of Lens kudos

DaimlerChrysler to donate to Harvard U. School of Public Heath

Quincy Jones will be honored with the DaimlerChrysler 2006 Behind the Lens Award at the fifth annual Behind the Lens event Tuesday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Chrysler Group introduced the Behind the Lens Award in 2002, at the annual NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles.

In conjunction with the kudos, DaimlerChrysler will present the Harvard U. School of Public Heath, a nonprofit org chosen by Jones, with a donation of $25,000 to support the Quincy Jones initiative for the world's children.

Past winners include directors John Singleton, Gordon Parks and Melvin Van Peebles.
