The American Society of Cinematographers has tapped Donald M. Morgan to receive its first career achievement in television award.
Kudo will be presented at the 21st annual ASC Outstanding Achievement Awards celebration Feb. 18 at the Century Plaza Hotel.
Morgan has won five Emmys for telepics "Something the Lord Made," "Out of the Ashes," "Miss Evers' Boys," "Geronimo" and "Murder in Mississippi." He's won four ASC awards.
Morgan has 70 feature credits.
ASC president Daryn Okada said of Morgan, "He has that rare combination of innate talent, mastery of a complex and constantly changing craft, and the ability to collaborate."
Morgan's father was an animation cameraman, who worked on "Snow White," "Fantasia" and "Bambi." Morgan apprenticed with Nelson Tyler on aerial cinematography projects during the early 1960s. He shot and produced "Win, Place or Steal" and shot "Santee," a 1973 Western starring Glenn Ford.
