English angle at Pangea

Group reps fare from U.K.

Pangea Management Group, an RDF Media-based company, is ramping up its roster of content companies, signing U.K. shingles Red, Maverick, Ecosse and Objective.

Company specializes in maximizing the potential of the worldwide intellectual property rights of scripted and reality formats.

Pangea/RDF USA chief exec Chris Coelen has brought in Karrie Wolfe as senior vice president. Wolfe, who worked with Coelen as an alternative TV agent at UTA, will oversee Pangea's British and European clients in an effort to traffic properties and formats Stateside. She will also work with RDF Rights to bring content and formats from U.S. production companies to international buyers.

Meanwhile, Brian Lenard has joined as manager of development for both RDF USA and Pangea. He will oversee the creative development of scripted projects for broadcast and cable.

Coelen said Wolfe's experience in the reality biz and strong relationships with its key players make her an invaluable asset as they look to grow the companies. During her five-year tenure at UTA, she repped the creators of "Pimp My Ride" and the showrunners of "Project Runway," "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," "Penn and Teller: Bullshit" and "30 Days."

As for the new U.K. clientele, Coelen said each is "among the best at what they do in their respective fields" and said the next step will be "bringing their original voices to the U.S."

Red's credits include the series "Queer as Folk," "Mine All Mine," "Conviction" and "Good Housekeeping Guide." Maverick is behind the series "$25 Million Dollar Hoax," "Ten Years Younger" and Channel 4's "How to Look Good Naked." Ecosse produced "Charlotte Gray" and the long-running BBC1 skein "Monarch of the Glen" and recently partnered with Showtime and Channel 4 on the eight-episode drama "Meadowlands."

Objective, which specializes in comedy and magic programming, produces "Derren Brown," "Star Stories" and "Peep Show." Bob Weide ("Curb Your Enthusiasm") is working with Pangea to shop "Peep Show" Stateside.
