Plastic surgery franchise will return Friday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m., replacing repeats of "Grey's Anatomy." It will be preempted Oct. 27 for the 40th anniversary broadcast of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown."
Repeats of "Grey's" have been doing decent numbers this fall, helping newcomer "Men in Trees" achieve satisfactory ratings. Alphabet execs are no doubt hoping original segs of "Makeover" can provide "Men" with a somewhat better lead-in.
"Makeover" is likely to air throughout the November sweeps, doing battle against CBS' "Ghost Whisperer" and a new NBC quizzer.
"Ugly Betty" had been slotted to air on Fridays. ABC then announced plans to run repeats of "America's Funniest Home Videos" on the night, but opted instead for the "Grey's" plan.
