The Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's National Playwrights Conference has put out the annual call for its famous open-submissions program.
The 41-year-old conference remains one of the few developers of new work to consider scripts by aspiring playwrights not repped by an agent. Org is best known for launching and nurturing the career of August Wilson.
Last year the O'Neill received scripts from some 750 hopefuls. This year's deadline for open submissions is Oct. 23.
