Jack Black has hatched a new shingle at Universal dubbed Electric Dynamite.

Thesp's Black and White shingle, which he ran with "Nacho Libre" and "School of Rock" writer Mike White, was also based at U, but that company has been dissolved.

Black kicks off Electric with a gridiron comedy. Universal has optioned "In College Football, Big Paydays for Humiliation," a Pete Thamel article in the New York Times about universities that make big bucks by serving up their mediocre teams to get crushed by powerhouse nationally ranked teams.Black is aboard only as a producer, according to his reps.

Black and White will continue to work together as producers on such projects as an adaptation of the Augusten Burroughs book "Them" and the comedies "Yes Man" and "Death Ray."

Ben Cooley will run Electric Dynamite.
