Wippit has inked agreements to include song catalogs from digital music distributors the Orchard, IODA, VUT, Digital Rights Agency and CD Baby.
Deals significantly boost Wippit's business. Company said its customers currently purchase four indie songs in the unrestricted MP3 format to every one from a major label on protected WMA.
"The public perception of Wippit as the online 'indie store' is certain to be reinforced with the addition of this content," said company founder Paul Myers.
Myers' company is considered to be the second-largest digital music service in the U.K., though the customer base is becoming more international. The U.K. now reps 45% of its business, with 26% coming from other European countries and 17% from the U.S. and Canada.
