Biggs, Fisher star in Black-helmed laffer

'The Pleasure of Your Compan'

Isla Fisher and Jason Biggs star in Michael Ian Black's 'The Pleasure of Your Company.'

MGM has picked up North American rights to Michael Ian Black-helmed "The Pleasure of Your Company."

Movie, a romantic comedy with elements of slapstick, world preemed in Toronto. It marks the directorial debut of the comedian and actor known for his ironic turns on VH1's "I Love the..." as well as ensemble comedy "Wet Hot American Summer."

Jason Biggs and Isla Fisher star in "Pleasure," which concerns a young man (Biggs) flummoxed by love and life.

Pic was financed by GreeneStreet Films and produced by GreeneStreet and Fugitive Films. No release date has been set.

MGM has been busy lately, filling its distribution slate with movies from pacts with the Weinstein Co. ("Bobby") and Bauer Martinez ("Harsh Times").

Company has also a number of tentpole releases planned, including "Terminator 4" and "Bond 22."

And at Toronto, Lion picked up Werner Herzog's Vietnam-era pic "Rescue Dawn."

GreeneStreet recently exec produced Robert Altman's "Prairie Home Companion; earlier this month it announced that it would soon open a Hollywood office.
