'Lover' has a date with U

Parent, Stuber, Miller to produce 'Boy'

Universal Pictures has acquired "Little Lover Boy," the Rick Overton-penned spec comedy about a small-time crook who gets abducted by aliens, swipes their spaceship and teams with an alien pilot for a Robin Hood-inspired intergalactic road trip.

Stuber/Parent's Mary Parent and Scott Stuber are producing with Mosaic Media's Jimmy Miller.

Overton is a standup comic and Emmy-winning writer for "The Dennis Miller Show" and an actor last seen on "Lost."

Overton showed the script to Miller, a longtime acquaintance, and Miller plugged in Parent and Stuber. Project's on a fast track since Overton completed several rewrites before the producers made the U deal.
