The Oct. 29 episode of Cartoon Network's new "Frisky Dingo" series will feature a storyline centered on a vehicle from Toyota's Scion group called the tC sports coupe.
John O'Hara, senior VP and general sales manager of Cartoon Network, and Nancy Inouye, advertising manager of Scion, said they tried to integrate the car into the plot with humor. "Freaky Dingo" is part of the network's Adult Swim latenight block of satirical half-hours.
In the episode, Killface, one of the two main characters, appears on a daytime talkshow and gets taunted by the host to show his strength by bench-pressing a Scion tC. The host goes on and on about how she loves the car, and Killface ends up protesting that he's "being used as a pitchman for a product."
"Dingo," created by Matt Thompson and Adam Reed, is produced by 70-30 Prods., based in Atlanta, where Cartoon Network is headquartered. It premieres Oct. 15 at 12:30 a.m.
