Roach, helmer of "Meet the Parents" and the "Austin Powers" franchise, was jointly repped at ICM by Nick Reed and Doug MacLaren.
Departure is a hit to the agency's director list -- which still includes Mel Gibson, Woody Allen, Sidney Lumet, David Cronenberg, Baz Luhrmann and Roman Polanski -- just as the tenpercentery boosts its TV side with the acquisition of boutique agency Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann.
Most recently, Roach was set to direct Ben Stiller and Jim Carrey starrer "Used Guys," but Fox, worried about the budget, pulled out at the eleventh hour.
Roach is next attached to direct the untitled Mark Felt project for Playtone and Universal.
On the producing side, Roach ("Meet the Fockers") is a producer of the upcoming Sacha Baron Cohen-starrer "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan."
Roach's defection comes only three months after longtime ICM agent Chris Andrews ankled to join the ranks of CAA, bringing with him a weighty client list that includes Felicity Huffman, Ian McKellen, Kelly Preston and Ben Kingsley.
Reed and MacLaren, who recently reupped with ICM, are co-heads of the motion picture lit department. Reed was Roach's primary agent.
