Buena Vista Prods. and FujisankeiCommunications have partnered to develop and produce "Run for Money," based on a Japanese reality/gameshow, and have signed Scott Messick to exec produce the show.

"Run for Money," which has played on Fuji Television in Japan as a series of latenight specials, bills itself as "a high-tech game of hide-and-seek featuring celebrities on the run from a pack of menacing hunters."

BV's goal is to come up with either a weekly primetime hour, or a series of primetime specials, for its ABC sibling, with a possible repurposing for ABC Family.

Worldwide goals are also in the business plan of the BV/Fujisankei partnership, which will be able to adapt the "Run for Money" franchise for sale to countries throughout the globe.

Messick, who's president of Mess Media, produces "Pros vs. Joes" for Spike TV," "Nascar Drivers 360" for FX and "Madden Nation" for ESPN. In the first season of "Survivor" on CBS, Messick was director and supervising producer.
