Gers was upped from his previous role as exec VP, Americas. His new responsibilities include overseeing the exploitation of FremantleMedia's brands worldwide and developing product and promotional associations that enhance and extend consumers' experience of each property, including brand licensing, music publishing, online and interactive, sponsorship, live events and telephony.
Prior to joining FremantleMedia, Gers founded and led Odaddy.com, a Web site about parenting, and set up Fulcrum Group, a consultancy to overseas companies looking to increase their presence in North America. From 1995-2000 Gers served as VP, strategic planning and business manager for the Internet, entertainment and novelty divisions of Golden Books Family Entertainment.
Gers will be based in New York.
