Madonna crucifixion irks Euro Christian groups

She just turned 48, but the Material Girl can still offend with the same flair as rockers half her age.

A mock crucifixion scene in Madonna's Confessions tour -- in which she wears a crown of thorns and is raised on a cross while singing "Live to Tell" -- has set off Christians in Europe.

A minority Dutch Christian political party wants to ban the scene when the tour arrives next month. A German Catholic spokesman regretted that it was impossible to ban the act under German law, when she played Dusseldorf.
