Lopez and producing partner Simon Fields have teamed with the cable network on the half-hour project "Echo Park," a comedic look at the world of yuppie, Latino and hipster cultures within Los Angeles' Echo Park neighborhood.
Lopez and Fields will executive produce via their Nuyorican Prods. banner.
FX confirmed that the channel has ordered a pilot script from scribe Ian Edelman.
Lopez is producing the MTV series "Moves," a dance-based reality show revolving around six amateur dancers trying to make it into showbiz (Daily Variety, May 22). MTV has greenlit eight episodes, some of which will feature appearances by Lopez, for the fourth quarter.
On the TV side, Nuyorican last produced the UPN primetime soap "South Beach."
