Telenovela summit

Telenovela execs will converge on the fourth World Summit of the Telenovela and Fiction Industry, Oct. 5-6 in Madrid.

Already signed up are Mexico's Televisa and TV Azteca, Brazil's TV Globo and Bandeirantes, Colombia's Caracol, Venezuela's RCTV Telefe and Canal 9 from Argentina.

The two-day talking shop will also welcome execs from, among other countries, Germany, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, South Korea and Japan, said organizer, the Miami-based TV monthly "TV Mas." Execs from India will attend for the first time.

Latin Americans are likely to use the pow-wow for a weekend stop-over before Mipcom in Cannes.
