Pic quartet joins Toronto's Gala slate

Film biz pic 'Consideration' will have its world preem

'For Your Consideration'
'For Your Consideration,' a comedy about thesps during awards season, will get its own consideration at Toronto.

The Toronto Film Festival (Sept. 7-16) has added four high-profile pics to its Gala line-up: writer/director/actor Christopher Guest's "For Your Consideration," Jessica Lange starrer "Bonneville," thesp-turned-helmer Emilio Estevez's "Bobby" and Pedro Almodovar's "Volver."

"For Your Consideration," which will have its world preem, is a look at the film biz. Ensemble cast features Eugene Levy (who co-wrote the screenplay with Guest, who also appears), Catherine O'Hara, Michael McKean, Harry Shearer, Fred Willard, Bob Balaban, Jennifer Coolidge, Parker Posey and Ricky Gervais. Pic is distributed by Warner Independent Pictures and produced by Castle Rock Entertainment and Shangri-La Entertainment.

"Bonneville," also a world premiere, is the feature directorial debut of Christopher N. Rowley and it stars Lange, Kathy Bates and Joan Allen as women on a road trip. Pic is penned by Daniel D. Davis and is a SenArt Films production.

"Bobby," which has its North American premiere, is written, directed and stars Estevez and is a look at what was happening in the lives of people at the Los Angeles Ambassador Hotel on the day in 1968 that Robert Kennedy was assassinated there. The film will screen as a work-in-progress.

Ensemble cast includes Harry Belafonte, Nick Cannon, Laurence Fishburne, Heather Graham, Anthony Hopkins, Helen Hunt, Ashton Kutcher, Lindsay Lohan, Demi Moore, William H. Macy, Martin Sheen, Christian Slater, Sharon Stone and Elijah Wood.

The pic is a Weinstein Co. presentation of a Bold Films production and will be released in the U.S. by MGM.

Almodovar's "Volver," which will have its North American premiere, is about the power of motherhood that ties together three generations of women.

Pic stars longtime Almodovar collaborator Penelope Cruz. It is being distributed in the U.S. by Sony Pictures Classics.
