Josephson joined the tenpercentery as a partner Tuesday, barely a week after being abruptly fired from her post as co-prexy of ICM in the wake of the latter agency's purchase of the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency. Move reunites Josephson with Endeavor co-founders Rick Rosen and Ari Emanuel, who left ICM in 1995 in order to create the agency.
It also means that, while ICM is gaining much from the purchase of BWCS, it will pay a price in terms of losing some key scribe and producer talent.
While Josephson's departure from the agency her father founded was abrupt, she said she's not looking back.
"Why even think about it?" she told Daily Variety. "I'm so beyond it. I've been so energized today by the environment at Endeavor, it's like, 'What took me so long?' "
Among the clients Endeavor says Josephson is bringing with her: Tyra Banks ("America's Next Top Model"); Yvette Lee Bowser ("Living Single"); David Crane ("Friends" and CBS' upcoming "The Class"); Ted Cohen ("Friends"); Joyce Eliason ("Riding the Bus With My Sister"); Marta Kauffman ("Friends"); Jeffrey Klarik ("Mad About You" and CBS' upcoming "The Class"); John Levenstein ("Arrested Development"); Greg Malins ("How I Met Your Mother"); Nancy Miller ("Any Day Now"); Stephen Nathan ("Bones"); Marc Platt ("Legally Blonde"); Andrew Reich ("Friends"); Elwood Reid ("Close to Home"); John Ridley ("Three Kings"); and Sue Tenney ("7th Heaven").
Agency said it expected to announce the signing of additional Josephson/ICM clients in the next few days.
As of late Tuesday, a rep for ICM had confirmed the departures of all but Ridley and Malins. Josephson, however, said the two men would be joining her.
Rosen said the deal for Josephson closed Monday night via telephone after several days of talks. At least one other agency is believed to have made a strong push for Josephson.
"Once she became available, we enthusiastically and aggressively pursued her," Rosen told Daily Variety. "There were calls, there were meetings, there were meals."
Rosen said Josephson's "great integrity ... and leadership skills" make her a good addition. "She's a woman of stature who can be both a mentor and a role model" to agents at Endeavor, he added.
Endeavor is known for its particularly aggressive style of agenting, with agents not shy about expressing their points of view.
So how will Josephson do in such an environment?
"Our corporate culture is incredibly healthy, and I think she'll fit in great," Rosen said.
Indeed, Josephson said she's already been struck by another hallmark of Endeavor's agenting style, namely the company's team-oriented approach to doing business. Her first morning at the company was spent with other agents coming into her office to begin brainstorming about possible collaborations with her clients.
"We may have different styles but we share the same way of approaching things with passion," Josephson said. "They're all about accomplishing things for their clients and so am I."
What's more, Josephson noted that she already shared several clients and packages with Endeavor -- not to mention relationships with the likes of Rosen, Emanuel and Endeavor partner Paul Haas.
"It's like reunion day here," she said.
Josephson is the 20th partner at Endeavor.
