Bob Saget has signed on to host "One Vs. 100," the new NBC show from the producers of "Deal or No Deal."

Thesp also has inked a talent holding deal with NBC U Television Studio that's set up behind "One." He'll appear in a NUTS-produced scripted pilot developed for the 2007-08 season, assuming his schedule on the quizzer permits.

By tapping Saget for the "One" gig, NBC and producer Endemol USA are following the template they used with "Deal," which is fronted by comic-thesp Howie Mandel.

"There's a real upside to casting someone who's done more than just host shows," said Endemol USA topper David Goldberg. "As with Howie, you get an actor and a standup in addition to someone who's hosted a show. They become a character in the show."

"One" pits one contestant against a "mob" of 100, with the one player trying to knock out his audience rivals in a bid to win as much as $3 million (Daily Variety, April 26.) Peacock's ordered five episodes of the show, which recently began production for broadcast next season.

Saget has long been associated with ABC, starring in the Alphabet laffer "Full House" and hosting "America's Funniest Home Videos" for years.

More recently, he's guest-starred as himself in "Entourage" and appeared in the video for Jamie Kennedy's "Rollin' With Saget."
