Warner plays a dating game

Holiday 2007 sked fills up

Warner Bros. is pushing back one of its major summer tentpoles, "10,000 BC," from next summer to what will be a busy holiday 2007 for the studio.

Roland Emmerich-directed epic was moved from July 27 to Dec. 14.

Shift marks one of a number of dates set and moved by WB, which is also delaying Jodie Foster revenge pic "The Brave One" from June 22 to Oct. 12.

That leaves "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" and "Ocean's Thirteen" as its two major summer releases.

In addition, WB is opening romantic comedy "License to Wed" on July 4, where it will counterprogram "Transformers."

Warner will have two major action movies late next year. In addition to "10,000 BC," it put post-apocalyptic thriller "I Am Legend," starring Will Smith, on Nov. 21.

That's two weeks after Vince Vaughn comedy "Fred Claus," which it has skedded for Nov. 9. In addition, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" reimagining "The Visiting," which stars Nicole Kidman, is now set for Nov. 2.

Other major tentpoles already skedded for next year's holidays include DreamWorks Animation's "Bee Movie" and Disney's "Enchanted" on Nov. 2 against "Visiting"; Sony's "Beowulf" and New Line's "The Golden Compass" on Nov. 16, one week before "Legend"; and Sony's "Waterhorse" for Dec. 7, the week before "10,000 BC."

Holiday 2008 also started to heat up on Thursday as the season got its first two movies.

Warner Bros. set the sixth "Harry Potter" pic, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," for Nov. 21, while Paramount is putting out DreamWorks Animation's "Madagascar" sequel on Nov. 7.
