"American Idol" co-producer FremantleMedia North America has inked a first-look deal with "Unanimous" creator Lincoln Hiatt.
Hiatt, who also created and exec produced Fox Reality Channel's just-wrapped "Solitary," will develop and produce unscripted series projects for the studio. He'll work with Fremantle chief creative officer Eugene Young.
Deal was announced Friday by CEO Cecile Frot-Coutaz, who said Hiatt has "shown tremendous imagination throughout his production career."
"Unanimous" debuted last spring behind the "American Idol" results show and scored solid ratings. "Solitary" bowed a few weeks later. Both shows are awaiting word on second-season renewals.
Before creating "Solitary" and "Unanimous," Hiatt was senior producer at ABC's alternative development lab.
