Stewart's Busboy, responsible for both "The Daily Show" and "The Colbert Report," is making the project its first homegrown film production. Pitch was hatched by Stewart, Karlin and Corddry, the latter of whom will write with Jason Mantzoukas and Brian Huskey. Logline is being kept under wraps.
After watching Steve Carell graduate from fake newsman to comedy star, Stewart is taking an active role in the feature fortunes of Corddry, who is stepping up in both feature and TV roles.
After starting with small roles in films like "Old School" and "Failure to Launch," Corddry recently wrapped "Blades of Glory" for DreamWorks and the Paul Feig-directed "Unaccompanied Minors" for Warner Bros.
Corddry also is starring in "Blackballed: The Bobby Dukes Story" and Fox sitcom "The Winner," which just drew a six-episode commitment for creators Seth MacFarlane and Ricky Blitt. Corddry also is booked to star in the David Wain-directed "The Ten" and is negotiating for writer-director Talmage Cooley's "Patriotville."
