Sound bites: If the shoe fits …
Johansson, Reebok pact for products
When "Scoop" star Scarlett Johansson last week inked a multiyear partnership with Reebok to co-create a line of footwear and apparel under the moniker Scarlett "Hearts" Rbk, the match didn't immediately seem to fit.
Sure, "The OC's" Mischa Barton has a line of Keds shoes, and Spike Lee cast himself in Nike campaigns back in the day and brought the term "It must be the shoes" into the '80s lexicon. But sneaker companies rarely put movie names with their lines, preferring sports stars and rappers like Jay-Z, 50 Cent and Nelly.
Brian Dubin, the WMA agent who helped put the pact together, says Johansson isn't just lending her name to a pre-existing line.
Reebok execs even came over to Johansson's Gotham apartment, where she critiqued shoe shapes before leading an expedition to her fave boutiques and thrift stores.
