'Into the West' is one of the tentpoles on BBC2's fall sked.
The BBC will screen a documentary celebrating the work of Steven Spielberg to coincide with the helmer's 60th birthday and the U.K. airing of his "Into the West."
Other fare unveiled Thursday for BBC2's fall schedule includes new series of Ricky Gervais' skein "Extras," with cameos from Orlando Bloom, David Bowie, Daniel Radcliffe, Chris Martin and Ian McKellan.
British actor-writer Stephen Fry will examine manic depression, from which he has suffered, in "The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive." Fry will speak to other celebrities, including Richard Dreyfuss, who suffer from the illness.
One of the other tentpoles is "Tsunami -- the Aftermath," a drama based on the 2004 disaster in the Asia Pacific, co-produced by HBO and starring Tim Roth, Toni Collette, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sophie Okonedo and Hugh Bonneville.
Channel also will screen the latest doc from Adam Curtis, "Cold, Cold Heart," maker of controversial "Power of Nightmares," which examined the post 9/11 world and links between the Bush clan and Arab leaders. This time round Curtis' subject is the death of altruism and the collapse of trust in contemporary society.
