Universal Pictures and Working Title have acquired Adam Brooks' script "Definitely, Maybe," with Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke and Isla Fisher set to star in the romantic comedy, which Brooks will also direct.

Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will produce; Liza Chasin and Bobby Cohen will exec produce.

Story follows a soon-to-be-divorced political consultant who has to answer some hard questions from his 11-year-old daughter as he explains his past relationships.

Reynolds, who takes the lead role, just worked for Working Title and Universal in the Joe Carnahan-directed drama "Smokin' Aces." He recently wrapped John August-directed "The Nine," and the Marcos Siega-directed Warner Independent drama "Chaos Theory."

Luke was last seen in "Glory Road" and "Friday Night Lights," and Fisher last appeared in "Wedding Crashers."

Brooks' most recent script credits are for the Working Title/U pics "Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason" and "Wimbledon."
