Fremantle takes trip down 'Road'

Fremantle Intl. Distribution, the distrib arm of FremantleMedia, has picked up the rights to distribute "Live From Abbey Road," which will see major musical artists such as the Who and Paul Simon perform in London's Abbey Road Studios.

Fremantle will sell the program worldwide. Premiere on the U.K.'s Channel 4 is scheduled for November to coincide with the studios' 75th anni.

Director Annabel Jankel began filming the 12 hourlong episodes in May under a license from EMI, which owns Abbey Road Studios.

Artists on the bill to date include the Killers, LeAnn Rimes, David Gilmour, Dave Matthews, Massive Attack and Diana Ross.
