A dose of reality for soccer 'wags'

'FW Boutique' will mine similar territory as 'Footballers'

Although the English soccer team lost the World Cup at the quarter-final stage, the players' wives and girlfriends -- or "wags" as they were dubbed by the Brit tabloids -- still scored by landing their own reality TV show.

Off the Radar's skein, currently titled "FW Boutique," will mine similar territory as the U.K. hit "Footballers Wives," still airing Stateside on BBC America. In the upcoming reality show, the wives will compete at running an upmarket boutique. According to the firm, two prominent wags have already signed up for the concept and three broadcasters are bidding.

But in true wag fashion the bitchiness and back-biting has already kicked off. Cheryl Tweedy, England star Ashley Cole's g.f. but also a successful singer in her own right, has slammed her fellow wags as "materialistic" and expressed no interest in joining the show.
