Scribe inks NBC U pact

Carlock joins Fey on Peacock laff staff

"Friends" and "Saturday Night Live" scribe Robert Carlock is reuniting with Tina Fey as part of a newly inked long-term deal with NBC Universal Television Studio.

Two-year pact calls for Carlock to come onboard as co-exec producer of "30 Rock," the fall laffer starring and exec produced by Fey. Carlock also will develop original projects for NBC Uni TV as part of the seven-figure deal.

Carlock spent four seasons as a scribe-producer on "SNL," working closely with Fey. He shifted to "Friends" during the 2001-02 season but continued to contribute material to "SNL."

NBC Uni TV comedy chief Shelley McCrory said Fey singled out Carlock as a scribe she wanted on the "30 Rock" staff. In addition, McCrory said she frequently would hear positive feedback about Carlock from other scribes.

"His name kept coming up when I was talking to writers, so I just grabbed him," McCrory said.

Endeavor-repped Carlock spent the last two seasons on "Joey," most recently as co-exec producer.
