Logo is looking to amp up its slate of originals.
MTV cabler geared to lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender individuals has greenlit four original series in a range of genres for development.
Skeins include "The Service," an hourlong drama exec produced by "Resident Evil: Extinction" helmer Russell Mulcahy that follows a group of gay and lesbian recruits at a military base in the Pacific Ocean; "Sordid Lives: The Series," a half-hour comedy helmed by "Queer as Folk's" Del Shores, described as a prequel to the play and cult film "Sordid Lives"; another laffer from Maverick Television, "That Gay Ghost," about a conservative family whose move to San Francisco is disturbed by a gay phantom who lives in their closet; and "Reconnection," a reality skein in which LGBT participants are given the opportunity to confront family and friends who disowned them because of their sexuality.
All of the skeins will be developed with an eye to moving content onto online, wireless video and other platforms.
