Gabfest hosted by Lisa Rinna and Ty Treadway ends after four seasons on the air, a network rep confirmed. Almost 600 episodes have been produced; SoapNet will run the remaining 28 unaired episodes weekdays at 11 a.m., 4 p.m. and midnight.
Though "Soap Talk" earned the cabler 12 daytime Emmy nominations over the past four years, skein wasn't a ratings generator compared with acquired Monday-Friday soap operas.
Cabler remains committed to original programming, however; second episode of the third season of "I Wanna Be a Soap Star" drew 341,000 viewers, a series high.
With a strong weekday prime -- anchored by soaps "The Young and the Restless," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," "General Hospital" and "Days of Our Lives" -- SoapNet likely will refocus its original efforts to weekend plays.
