Fox Korea exec shuffles to Japan

Lee replaces Karaki as GM

Fox Korea managing director Jesse Lee has been named general manager for Fox Japan, replacing Toshiharu Karaki, who has decided to pursue other career endeavors.

Appointment takes effect July 1.

Twentieth Century Intl. co-presidents Tomas Jegeus and Paul Hanneman said in a statement, "We are sorry to see Toshi leave 20th Century Fox Intl. but respect his decision to do so."

Lee said he's optimistic about Fox's upcoming slate in Japan, including "X-Men: The Last Stand" (Sept. 9), "The Devil Wears Prada" (Nov. 18) and "Eragon" (Dec. 16).

Lee has been general manager for the theatrical and home entertainment divisions of Fox Korea since 2000. He began working at Fox Korea in 1993 as homevid marketing director.
