'Talent' lands at Universal

U picks up comicbook series

Universal Pictures and Marc Platt Prods. have acquired rights to "Talent," a comicbook series by Christopher Golden and Tom Sneigoski.

Series is based on a college professor, the sole survivor of a plane wreck who slowly discovers he's inherited the abilities of the passengers who've died. He then has to put his new talents to use as he finds himself chased down by members of a shadowy conspiracy.

"Talent," is being published by Boom! Studios and was brought in by Platt exec Nicole Brown. Along with Platt, Boom Entertainment's Ross Richie and Andrew Cosby will produce the pic.

Overseeing at U are production prexy Donna Langley, veep Jeffrey Kirschenbaum and creative exec David Ortiz.
