Uma to 'Bloom' for 2929

Thriller ensnares Thurman to star

Uma Thurman will topline "In Bloom," an adaptation of Laura Kasischke novel "The Life Before Her Eyes" that Vadim Perelman will direct.

Pic, to be financed by 2929 Prods., begins lensing in August. Thriller revolves about a woman whose idyllic life crumbles when she survives a shooting spree at a school.

Project marks Perelman's second novel-based film, after "House of Sand and Fog."

Emil Stern wrote the script. Mark Cuban and Todd Wagner exec produce. Marc Butan, Aimee Peyronnet, Perelman and Anthony Katagas will produce, and Chase Bailey is co-producer.

James Gray-directed drama "We Own the Night" with Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg, and a remake of "Black Christmas," were also financed by 2929.

Thurman will next be seen opposite Luke Wilson in the New Regency comedy "My Super Ex-Girlfriend."
