FX has given a 13-episode order for Courteney Cox's showbiz drama "Dirt."
Drama stars Cox as the editor-in-chief of a pair of popular celebrity tabloids.
Cox exec produces with husband David Arquette via the pair's Coquette Prods. and series creator Matthew Carnahan ("Fastlane"). Touchstone TV produces.
"Dirt" marks the first time male-skewing FX has greenlit a series anchored by a female lead.
Carnahan directed the pilot. Production on the series is expected to begin shortly in time for a premiere this year.
Cast includes Ian Hart, who portrays a schizophrenic photographer; Laura Allen, who plays an actress on the rise; and Josh Stewart, as a struggling actor trying to make a name for himself.
FX is still considering the potential of drama "Lowlife," which stars Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver as married con artists.
