It's a plunderful life

Serialized TV shows among top searches

For studios looking to prevent piracy, there's a simple solution: Don't make serialized TV shows popular with young men, and don't put out big event movies.

Latest data from BitTorrent, the company behind the hugely popular piracy software, finds that serialized TV shows popular with young men, like "Lost" and "Prison Break," are among the top search queries, along with event movies like "The Da Vinci Code" and "Ice Age: the Meltdown."

Those are just searches, so what would-be downloaders actually find and can access is another matter entirely.

And while most BitTorrent users are looking for pirated content, the company has pacted with Warner Bros. and is talking to other studios about selling legit content.
