The current and historical programming, as well as specials produced specifically for iTunes, were made available Thursday for $1.99.
"Partnering with iTunes on the news side -- in addition to what we've already done on the entertainment side -- makes perfect sense," said NBC Universal Television Group topper Jeff Zucker.
NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams hosts several programs unique to iTunes, including "In His Own Words" programs on John F. Kennedy and Richard M. Nixon, cut from archive clips.
Also included will be Williams' first-person account of covering Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath; Tom Brokaw's "Greatest Generation" reports; and "Meet the Press" moderator Tim Russert's "Meet the Presidents" series.
"Dateline" segments include "Vegas Homicide: Death in the Desert" and "Inside Evil: Jeffrey Dahmer." MSNBC offers its "Caught on Tape" series including "Cops Caught on Tape," "Tattoos: Skin Deep" and "Extreme Fighting."
