Much of the boost came from European markets such as the U.K. and Germany, where actuals wound up at least $1 million higher than Sunday estimates. The Brit take, which led foreign markets, totaled $17.1 million, followed by Germany with $13.3 million.
"The Da Vinci Code" set all-time opening weekend records in 10 territories, led by the heavily Catholic markets of Italy with $11.1 million and Spain with $11 million.
Other markets seeing records were Brazil ($4.8 million), Argentina, Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Uruguay and Venezuela.
"Code" set a record in China for top opening for a non-local pic, drawing $4.8 million. It also achieved that distinction in Turkey and the Dominican Republic.
The upward revision gives "Code" a worldwide gross of $231.8 million in its first five days.
