Pick a number between 'One' and '60'

Webs' new skeins count on digit-friendly titles

Network TV has always been a numbers game, but this is ridiculous.

In the grand tradition of networks mysteriously copying each other, webs seem to have adopted a paint-by-numbers strategy when it comes to naming their new shows. A slew of skeins with numeral-specific titles is about to hit the small screen.

NBC plans to add no fewer than four digit-friendly shows to its fall lineup: "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip," "30 Rock," "20 Good Years" and gameshow "One Versus 100." As if that weren't tricky enough, two of the shows -- "Studio 60" and "30 Rock" -- are both behind-the-screens looks at network comedy shows.

Not to be outdone, ABC announced the J.J. Abrams-produced "Six Degrees" and the relationship-based thriller "The Nine." CBS gave a midseason go-ahead to the medical drama "3 Lbs."

Of course, no net loves numerals as much as CBS. It's already the home of "Numbers."
