MGA Entertainment, Crystal Sky Pictures and Avi Arad are teaming to produce the live-action feature "Bratz," based on the popular doll line.

Crystal Sky will finance the film, while Arad -- topper of Marvel Studios -- will produce through his own separate shingle.

John Doolittle is penning the screenplay, tentatively titled "Bratz." Shooting begins this fall in L.A.

Bratz property, owned by MGA, is one of the larger toy franchises on the market, spawning an animated TV series, DVD titles, vidgames, a magazine, a clothes line and a No. 1 album on Billboard's children's chart.

MGA, a consumer entertainment products company, launched Bratz dolls in 2001. With more than 400 licenses, the Bratz brand is now distribbed in more than 65 countries.

In addition to Arad, producers of the live-action feature are MGA's Isaac Larian and Crystal Sky's Steven Paul. Crystal Sky prexy Benedict Carver exec produces.

"Bratz" project reunites Arad and Crystal Sky, who are producing the upcoming "Ghost Rider." Crystal Sky is in pre-production on "Big Stan," starring Rob Schneider.
